Read more on blogger is just a link that direct the reader of your page to the real page where the full article is, its only shorting the article you write and make the home page of your blog page looks great and two or more of your post can be shown on a small portion of your page.

So by adding the READ MORE link makes your page look nice.

This article will only teaches you on how you can add, and customize the READ MORE to another words, and also replace that READ MORE text into image:

To Add a READ MORE link to your blogger post all you have to do is to add you post to the compose page and immediately after the first paragraph you add the JUMP BREAK. This will automatic add a "read more" link to your page.

Then, From your blogger template,
search for <b:if cond='data:post.hasJumpLink'>

You will see:

<b:if cond='data:post.hasJumpLink'>
<div class='jump-link'>
<a expr:href='data:post.url + "#more"'>Read More </a>
</div>
</b:if >

But may see that you own line three that is: <a expr:href='data:post.url + "#more"'>Read More </a>
it may be different from this all you have to do is to highlight the code from <a expr:...... to </a> avd replace it with <a expr:href='data:post.url + "#more"'>Read More </a>

To change the READ MORE text to your own words just change Read More to your own  word.
